Gonda: In a significant success, the joint team of Kotwali Nagar Police, SOG and Surveillance Cell has successfully solved a recent bombing incident and related serious criminal cases. During the operation, one accused was injured in a police encounter while four accused were arrested and one juvenile was taken into police custody. Illegal firearms, live and empty cartridges, cash from loot, and two motorcycles have also been recovered.
The operation was conducted under the direction of Superintendent of Police Vinayt Jaiswal, under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Ajit Kumar Rajak and leadership of Circle Officer (City) Anand Kumar Rai.
Incident Background
According to police, complainant Dali Singh, resident of Janki Nagar Colony, Mathiya Talab, Kotwali Nagar, had reported that on the night of May 18, 2026, between 9:00 pm and 9:25 pm, 2–3 unidentified persons attacked her residence with bombs and opened fire with intent to kill.
Based on the complaint, multiple cases were registered at Kotwali Nagar police station. Taking the matter seriously, SP Gonda formed four police teams and deployed the SOG and surveillance unit for immediate investigation.
Police Encounter and Arrests
During investigation, CCTV footage and intelligence inputs helped identify the accused. On May 19, 2026, near Sakruddin Mazar and Katara railway crossing, police attempted to intercept suspicious individuals. The accused opened fire on the police team.
In retaliatory firing, accused Devendra Srivastava was injured in the leg, while his associate Manvendra Tiwari was arrested on the spot. Police recovered a 12-bore illegal pistol, live cartridge, empty shell, and a Pulsar motorcycle from them.
Following interrogation, police arrested two more accused identified as Arpit Pandey and Satyam Saxena along with one juvenile. A Splendor motorcycle and ₹2,800 cash looted from victims were also recovered.

Criminal Activities Exposed
During interrogation, the accused were found involved in multiple serious criminal acts. Police stated that on May 18, the group had abducted a student returning from LBS College examination, robbed him of cash, online money transfer worth ₹14,500, a wristwatch worth around ₹14,000, and other valuables.
They also allegedly forced the victim into objectionable conditions, recorded videos, and threatened him against reporting the crime. The same night, the group allegedly carried out the bombing attack at Dali Singh’s residence.

Police Team Behind Operation
The operation was successfully carried out by Kotwali Nagar Police under Station House Officer, along with SOG and Surveillance teams led by Inspector Manish Kumar Jaat, and supported by multiple officers and personnel from the district police force.
Police officials stated that all accused have a long criminal history and strict action is being taken to curb organized crime in the district.
